Passive House Bike Tour, August 12, Visits Four Passive House Projects in Vancouver
Join us this Saturday, August 12, on our Passive House social & bike tour. We will start at Vancouver City Hall, then bike along Ontario Street to visit four passive houses at various stages of construction.

Our schedule:
- 9:00 Start – Meet at city hall and greetings from Shaun St-Amour
People without bicycles can rent mobis. Please reserve your mobi prior to the event. Renting a mobi for the day will probably cost ~$40. - 9:10 to 9:30 – Brady Faught, City of Vancouver, Sustainability Group
- 9:30 to 10:00 – Cycle to Khotso Passive House, at 36 West 21st Ave
- 10:00 to 10:15 – Erik Olofsson, Erik Olofsson Construction Inc.
Note for viewing all projects: Cyclists to meet on the sidewalk for discussion. No time is allocated to view the interior of space as clients may not allow any disturbance to their property. Projects under construction may not be suitable to for cyclists to enter. If the site is available, guests can enter the site at their own risk. - 10:15 to 10:30 – Ride around the corner to Kingdom Builders’ project, at 3 West 22nd Ave.
- 10:30 to 10:45 – Shaun St-Amour to speak on behalf of Paul Lilley, Kingdom Builders
- 10:45 to 11:15 – Cycle to Lanefab’s project, at 38 East 37th Ave
- 11:15 to 11:45 – Bryn Davidson & Matt Turner, Lanefab Design/Build
Shaun St-Amour to point out the Little Mountain Co-housing Passive House project currently in the permitting stage with City of Vancouver. The Little Mountain Co-housing is located across the street from the Lanefab project - 11:45 to 12:15 – Cycle to Suvic Passive House, at 22 East 60th Street
- 12:15 to 12:30 – Dominic Sy, DSY Designs, Rey Lim, Suvic Homes, and Pierre-Andre Santin, Muzi Passive House
- 12:30 to 1:30 – Ride back along Ontario Street to the Olympic Village Plaza to visit the Ice Box Challenge
Option: Cyclists can ride over to the Cambie and Marine Skytrain Station, train to Olympic Village Station, then cycle to Olympic Village Plaza, located west of the Creekside Community Centre and Tap and Barrel Restaurant (1 Athlete’s Way). - 1:30 to 3:00 – Shaun St-Amour, Footprint Sustainable Housing on behalf of David Arnott, Stark Architecture, Troy Glasner, E3 Eco Group, and Passive House Canada
Option: Have lunch/beverage at Tap and Barrel Restaurant. Cyclists can park bikes in the bike racks that are north of Ice Box Challenge.
Cyclists should pack enough water and snacks for the duration of the trip. Helmets must be worn when we are traveling from location to location. Bring your own bike lock. Organizers are not responsible for the cyclists’ safety, please ride responsibly.
